Program Description:
Bancolombia 

Organization Overview
This is a Latin American financial group that supports people’s dreams and seeks to establish lasting relationships with them based on trust, closeness, respect, inclusion and warmth. Bancolombia, Colombia's largest bank by assets and shareholders' equity, is a full service financial institution offering a broad range of banking products and services – including corporate and government banking, treasury, mortgage banking, and personal and SME banking – to individual and corporate clients.

The firm is currently opening a branch in Portugal.

Intern Responsibilities:

1. Data Science Intern
Responsibilities may include:
  • Evaluate the feasibility of the implementation of analytical technologies.
  • Provide assistance to the business bank's operation, the search for models, the investigation of success cases, and the design and implementation of basic prototypes in the financial sector.
  • Given the great amount of data residing in technical logs, create an analytic model to discover patterns in technical data that currently resides in different places to help identify unusual changes, behaviors or issues that could go unnoticed otherwise and take corrective action.

Qualifications:
  • Language Requirement: No Spanish required. Fluent English.
  • Juniors are encouraged to apply
  • Preferred Skills: Mathematics, machine-learning, deep-learning, statistics, programming and the ability to understand structured and semi-structured data.

2.  Artificial Intelligence Intern
The intern will be part of the creation of a proof-of-concept that generates or adopts a statistical model of text classification, the NLP model. The NPL model is oriented to be used for classification of intentions, sentiments with the customers.

Qualifications:
  • Intermediate Spanish
  • Must know programming in Python and R
  • Juniors are encouraged to apply
  • Preferred skills: Machine-learning, deep-learning, natural language processing and human-robot interaction, statistics and probability, user experience.

This internship is offered in collaboration with The Intern Group and is only offered in a remote capacity.
