Organization Overview

This position is within the medical devices business, where Johnson and Johnson is the second largest medical device company in the world. The organizations is founded by innovation and science to improve the lives of and care for their patients and serve with their Credo values at the forefront. 

Intern Responsibilities:

Ethicon Biosurgery R&D Intern
This internship will be in Guangzhou Bioseal Biotechnology Company that offers porcine plasma-derived biologic products for controlling bleeding during surgery. Guangzhou Bioseal Biotech operates in China and is part of Ethion Inc., Johnson & Johnson. The IIP intern will have an opportunity to conducting research and development focusing on medical device design, prototyping, manufacturing and testing.
  • Hands-on laboratory work in engineering labs
  • Performing studies and developing test methods and fixtures
  • Good documentation practices, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and documenting meeting minutes
  • Crafting and evaluating prototypes
  • Attending and participating in voice-of-customer (VOC) labs
  • Collaborating with engineers and outside suppliers to support project related activities
  • Generating models and drawings in SolidWorks

  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Internship.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities is desired.
  • A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Be comfortable working independently, as well as on a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on skills and experience with SolidWorks.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
