Learning Space Foundation

Organization Overview
Learning Space Foundation (LSF) was founded in 2006 in India’s village of Ganeshpuri on the outskirts of Mumbai City. LSF has been dedicated to bringing resources, such as infrastructure, methodology and skilled volunteers, to better education in rural parts of Maharashtra. In the past decade, LSF has worked specifically as an intervention program in public preschools and primary schools in the areas of Thane and Palghar district in Maharashtra, where the children of native communities seek admission to no cost schooling, and there is much need for external intervention. LSF has also been working to provide the rural youth with skill based capacity building programs over the last 5 years, with a specific intention of empowering rural youth to live and work in their natural habitat, and to stop the problem of rural youth migrating to nearby cities for employment. In effect, the work at LSF has been to offer the rural children and youth better choices in education and livelihood, so they may fulfill their aspirations.
