Program Description:

Mr. and Mrs. Yan Huo *94*95 Graduate Fellowship



The Mr. and Mrs. Yan Huo *94*95 Graduate Fellowship, administered by Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS), will award funding to qualified Princeton Ph.D. students who are conducting fieldwork outside the United States, with a preference for those conducting research in or related to China, during the 2023-2024 academic year. Mr. and Mrs. Yan Huo Graduate Fellows will receive full tuition for the semester(s) they are abroad, a twelve-month stipend, and up to $10,000 in additional funding to support their research and travel. For questions related to travel during the 2023-24 academic year, please contact Rachel Golden (rg9@princeton.edu).

Candidates should submit their applications through GPS. Proposals should be no longer than seven double-spaced pages, and should address the following:
  • Central idea of the dissertation
  • Significance of candidate’s research to the field 
  • Data, methods, and justification for the field work
  • Summary of progress to date
Two letters of recommendation must also be submitted to GPS as part of the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all letters of recommendation are received.
