Program Description:
Isla Power (IIP-IN Argentina, Puentes Abroad)

Isla Power develops both grid-connected and grid-independent renewable energy projects, including large-scale solar PV, wind, hybrid energy systems, energy storage, and mini-grids. We are particularly focused in areas where renewable energy and efficiency can reduce the cost of energy for both businesses and grid operators, all the while displacing traditional sources.  We also assist local project developers to advance their renewable energy projects by connecting quality opportunities to global equity and debt financiers, and help local companies reduce their energy costs via creative debt and energy solutions.
Intern responsibilities: IIP interns will contribute to the work of the communications, business development or project management teams.
  • Communications Intern: Creation and implementation of a strategy to enhance the company's local media presence in both social media and traditional media.
  • Business Development: Lead a portion of outreach to corporate clients to educate on the benefits of renewable energy, including potentially organizing workshops at the company’s offices.
  • Project Management Intern: A project to assist the company’s techno-economic project modeling and development tools.
Qualifications: IIP candidates with interests in business, finance, and engineering are encouraged to apply.  The ideal candidate would also be someone who is passionate about making a difference in the environment and the field of energy sources and who is eager to work in dynamic, small office with a smart and fast-moving team.  MS Excel a must, and an understanding of energy systems a plus.  Fluent Spanish is required.
