Taragaon Museum
About: The Taragaon Museum is supported by The Saraf Foundation for Himalayan Traditions and Culture. The museum is the starting point of the foundation’s aim to document Nepal’s cultural heritage and support historic preservation in the Kathmandu valley and beyond. Before the restoration, Taragaon was a hostel which has now been restored and, in places, enlarged. It now houses a permanent collection, contemporary art exhibitions, events and performances, a café and bar, and is best known for its high quality and avant-garde art and unique performances. The Taragaon Museum has evolved into a space that preserves, documents and celebrates Nepalese art and culture.
Intern Responsibilities: IIP interns will assist in the archiving of historical architectural documentation of Nepal.
Qualifications: IIP candidates with interests in art, architecture, archival research and restoration are encouraged to apply. Experience as an archivist would be an asset but is not required.
