About
: Ruwasunchis is a non-profit organization that promotes capacity and development opportunities in vulnerable communities. One of Ruwasunchis programs is Ruwalab, a laboratory of social innovation that promotes creativity, personal development and collective creativity to solve problems and create value. Other programs include a weaving program for local women, and academic study and sports programs for teens and children.

Intern Responsibilities: The IIP interns would assist on two projects: Ruwalab, a laboratory of social innovation that promotes creativity, personal development and collective creativity to solve problems and create value, and with their social enterprise, Ayllu Ruwasunchis that works with weavers.
  • Ruwalab project - The IIP interns will focus on how to scale up the current offerings (workshops, consulting services) and how to improve the marketing, outreach and strategy to grow Ruwalab, in order to expand their client base. This will be achieved with research on the industry, the organization and the stakeholders, via interviews, a human-centered consulting approach, as well as a marketing and outreach analysis.
  • Social enterprise project, Ayllu Ruwasunchis -  the IIP interns will design a strategy to boost the sales of the weavers’ products and a strategy to implement a strong operational and management processes for the enterprise. To achieve this, the IIP interns will explore the different ways to improve the local sales, but also the feasibility of exporting the products, as well as interviews and research on the current internal operations and best practices for social enterprises.
Qualifications: IIP candidates interested in gaining experience in social innovation and social impact lab, business development, community empowerment and design are encouraged to apply. The organization seeks a highly-organized candidate with critical thinking, active listening skills, creative and strategic thinking.   Skills in spoken and written Spanish would be an asset.
