Program Description:
Kantaya
About:
Kantaya is a non-profit organization that transform lives through quality education, fostering creativity and values in vulnerable children. Kantaya is currently working on two initiatives to help the organization become self-sustainable. They need help with either one to better understand the market, the competitors, the challenges and opportunities that each initiative represents.

Intern Responsibilities: IIP interns will be tasked with one of the two initiatives:
  • Project 1: Komparte K - a social company that sells products (notebook, binders etc…) to support Kantaya’s children and connect them to a social community. They want to improve their operations and strategy and plan to do a small scale launch in the next months
  • Project 2: Reto Kantaya - a program to sell to private schools that empowers their students to encourage them to believe in themselves and to help develop empathy in the future leaders of Peru, the plan has four steps: experience, reflection, empowerment and sharing with Kantaya’s beneficiaries.
Qualifications: IIP candidates with interests in business development, social impact and education are encouraged to apply. Experience in operation analysis, strong strategic thinking would be an asset.  Programming skills will also be an asset. Basic Spanish is recommended.

Previous work experience (in the words of a past IIP intern: Duties: developed the Unified Information Management Plan by analyzing current administrative proceedings to identify opportunities for improvement and strengths; researched free or low-cost application which could satisfy the organization’s administrative needs; established a complete or partial implementation training plan and manual of procedure.
