Program Description:
Liger Learning Center
The Liger Learning Center is a unique secondary boarding school in Cambodia. The goal of the school is to graduate students who want to create positive change for the country in the future. The school has 110 students mostly from rural provinces throughout Cambodia. Students experience a project-based, experiential learning environment where they develop a deep understanding of Cambodia and the world.
Intern Responsibilities: IIP interns will work on one or more of the following projects:
PROJECT 1: Teaching youth ages 12 to 15
  • Work with students aged 12-15. About half of the students will have excellent English skills and the other half will be English beginners.
  • Tutor students in English, math, and/or computer science/coding
  • Accompany students and staff on field trips
  • Propose new learning experiences such as art projects, hands-on learning activities, etc. that would work for the students
  • Help students who are working on their Independent Discovery projects
  • Work with the Creative Design Team to deliver small informative seminars on podcasting, photography, and filmmaking
PROJECT 2: Teaching at a Primary School in rural Cambodia
  • Tutor or teach a basic level of a predetermined subject in a rural NGO school in the Kampong Speu Province. This is a very rural primary school, and the subject being taught would most likely be English. 
Qualifications: IIP candidates should be interested in education and/or teaching. They should be patient, flexible, enthusiastic, and have basic technology skills. Candidates particularly interested in innovation and entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply.
