Villgro Innovations Foundation
About: Founded in 2001, Villgro is India’s foremost social enterprise incubator, focused on solving some of India’s most critical problems through market-based models. Villgro inspires, mentors, funds and incubates innovative social enterprises in four sectors across India: education (includes skill training), healthcare, agriculture, and energy. Villgro is a non-profit organization and an approved Incubator by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Since inception, Villgro has incubated 119 social enterprises and entrepreneurs, provided them with seed funding of approximately 140 million INR; these enterprises have gone on to generate around 4,000 jobs, have secured 194 million INR in follow-up funding, and have touched over 15 million underprivileged lives.
Intern Responsibilities: IIP interns will work with Villgro's health investment team to evaluate potential impact investment opportunities in the sector. This work will include the initial screening for both business viability and impact, detailed market and impact assessment, and other assistance with the diligence process.
Qualifications: IIP candidates with an interest or background in impact investing, public health or finance are encouraged to apply. Strong critical thinking skills would be an asset.
