Program Description:
The U Jotiparla Welfare Monastery
About: The U Jotiparla Welfare Monastery provides education for children whose families cannot afford the government school fees. U Jotiparla teaches reading, writing, math, computer skills, and English to high school students in a pre-professional program. IIP Interns will stay at nearby guesthouse or at the Monastery.

Intern Responsibilities: The IIP interns will teach some classes on their own, as well as help develop new curriculum. Once interns accept their position at the U Jotiparla Welfare Monastery, they will be put in touch with the Head Monk, U Joti Parla.The IIP interns are also free to organize an English conversation class to offer to local community members.

Qualifications: IIP candidates with interests in teaching and/or East Asian studies are encouraged to apply.
