GoodPeople (IIP-IN Argentina, Puentes Abroad)
About: GoodPeople is a tech start-up company based in Buenos Aires and San Francisco that provides an online marketplace and global collective for outdoor and extreme sports apparel and gear. Their aim is to provide a platform for new brands and the best products that exemplify the outdoor and action sports lifestyle, while also supporting sustainable businesses, nonprofits, and a healthy environment.
Intern Responsibilities: This IIP intern will be fully immersed in marketing or business development work in a community-oriented office in the heart of Buenos Aires. IIP interns will be assigned individual projects tailored to their interests and skillset. Projects may involve business development with outreach and client management for new and existing brand partners, marketing with a focus on online marketing tools, SEO and SEM strategies, and content creation.
Qualifications: IIP interns with interests in entrepreneurship, marketing, engineering, and business development are encouraged to apply. Experience in software engineering, coding and data analysis would be an asset. Spanish proficiency recommended, but not required.
Previous work experience (in the words of a past IIP intern): Marketing and Business Development Intern: I am helping the organization acquire better relationships with their partner companies in the U.S. I am also helping with their marketing strategies. Lastly, I am improving their relationships with their clients by researching the CRM tool. I feel that I have learned the importance of team work and planning. Both inside and outside of the workplace, I have realized that making a plan to do something is one of the most important parts of actually completing a task or having a successful trip. I worked at the same table as my supervisor and could ask him questions whenever I needed to. He was very responsive and we became close by the end of the summer. Duties: Contacted the brands on the American side of the site on a regular basis to make sure their information on any given brand was current and assembled this information into excel spreadsheets; Researched potential customer relationship management (CRM) tools that the company could use to improve their interactions with customers; Used HTML to program newsletters for the American side of the site to be sent out to the customers; Created an excel document with formulas to automate much of their billing process.
