About: Forbes India is the India office of Forbes business magazine. The magazine features original articles on finance, industry, investing, and marketing topics. This IIP internship provides interns with an excellent opportunity to gain a good sense of what it is like to be a journalist in India, especially in the business sector. One placement has been established for an International Internship Program (IIP) intern.

Intern responsibilities: The intern will be involved in both the office and the field, researching topics and content for articles, writing and editing articles for the magazine and blog, attending press conferences and launches, and interviewing people for stories.

Qualifications: IIP candidates with experience or interests in journalism and business are encouraged to apply.

Previous work experiences (in the words of the previous IIP intern): Intern #1: Conducted interviews. Wrote for the magazine. Did research. Learned graphic design. Wore the shoes of a journalist. Intern #2: I did copy-editing, proof-reading, reporting and writing. I'm pursued a story of my own on independent music in India...I got great reporting experience, and I learned about how a print publication functions. Intern #3: Copyedited, researched potential story ideas, conducted interviews, accompanied senior reporters in their interviews, attended editorial and pitch meetings, etc. I learned how to pitch a story  and how to do the pre-reporting that comes along with a pitch. I also learned about the magazine production process and how all the different departments come together to make a magazine work.
