Program Description:

About: The Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA – International Association of Lawyers) was created in 1927 and is the oldest professional association, with several thousand individual members as well as more than 200 collective members comprised of bar associations, organizations or federations (representing nearly two million lawyers) from over 110 countries. The UIA’s principal goals are to promote the basic principles of the legal profession, the development of legal knowledge in all areas and the defense of lawyers and other legal professionals in the international context. The association works in three languages: English, French, and Spanish.

Intern responsibilities: IIP intern tasks will include: 
  • Website: Revision of the contents of the website and suggestions for improvements of the English version of the website 
  • Communication: Setup of a communication plan directed to law students all over the world; Revision of the promotional brochures of the association in their English version; Promotion of the Jacques LEROY Prize, an award given each year to a law student; Law internship: Setup of a law internship project with member law firms
Qualifications: UIA is looking for motivated, dynamic, flexible and internationally minded IIP candidates. Fluency in French is preferred and additional fluency in Spanish would be a definite plus.
