About: Founded in 1997, Endeavor is a global non-profit organization aims to catalyze long term economic growth by selecting, mentoring and accelerating the best high impact entrepreneurs around the world. Endeavor searches for high impact entrepreneurs who have the capacity and capability to grow and scale, and support them to reach success. In Jordan, Endeavor aims to create success stories that will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and catalyze the economy. High-Impact Entrepreneurs create thriving companies that employ hundreds, even thousands of people, and generate millions in wages and revenues. These entrepreneurs have the power to inspire countless others as leading role models. Together, these entrepreneurs hold the key to sustained economic growth in emerging markets. Endeavor helps High-Impact Entrepreneurs unleash their potential by providing an unrivaled network of seasoned business leaders, who provide the key ingredients to entrepreneurial success. In Jordan, Endeavor was launched in 2009, and has screened over 600 companies and has a portfolio of 17 companies from various industries.

Intern Responsibilities: IIP interns will help seek, identify, and select potential Jordanian high-impact entrepreneurs to present at the Endeavor International Selection panels and may also work directly with selected Endeavor entrepreneurs. Responsibilities may also include: drafting company overviews and detailed profiles; analyzing business concepts, innovation, growth potential, and financials; cultivating relationships with Endeavor mentors for synergies with the Endeavor network; designing, managing and monitoring other value-added entrepreneur services as needed; working together with Endeavor Global and other local offices to share best practices and ensure first-class Endeavor experience for all stakeholders; and helping the outreach and communications team to disseminate success stories and other information that would analyze learning among members and foster entrepreneurship in Jordan.

Qualifications: IIP candidates with interests in business administration, finance, sale and marketing, business development, entrepreneurship and/or international development are encouraged to apply. A strong understanding of business operations is recommended. An in-depth knowledge of Jordan's economic, political and business climate would be an asset, as would Arabic language skills.

Previous work experiences (in the words of past IIP interns): Intern #1: I wrote profiles of potential Endeavor Entrepreneurs, collected and summarize in a meaningful way as much information about the company as I could. Intern #2: I, along with another intern, helped a consultant working with Endeavor Jordan as he generated data - through qualitative interviews and online data - to put together a report on the state of entrepreneurship in Jordan's IT sector. Intern #3: I worked on company profile, attended company First Opinion and Second Opinion Reviews, as well as answered interviews, and created reports. Intern #4: Drafted International Selection Panel candidate profiles, which required market and business model research.  Attended First and Second Opinion Review meetings with Senior Associates, as well as Advisory Board meetings.  Offered logistical and social media support for International Selection Panel. Collaborated on industry specific guidelines for candidates’ First Opinion Review meetings...I learned more about the process of building a business, what it means to be an entrepreneur, how to develop connections in different industries, how to conduct myself in the office and take initiative, how to communicate with several offices and schedule meetings.
