Organization Overview
The Varkey Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to improve the education standards in the world.  The mission of this foundation is for each child to have a great teacher.  With this objective, the foundation actively works to develop educators’ skills and to place higher value on their role. The fundamental belief is that if the quality of teaching is guaranteed, the results will improve. The IIP intern will work in Communications and Social Media and/or Technology and Web Development. Candidates will be considered for both Buenos Aires and Mendoza offices.

#1 Communications and Social Media Intern

Internship Description:

The intern will be tasked with collecting testimonials and video footage to be prepared for social media with the aim of telling the story of Varkey’s recent evolution, the growth of their outreach, and other improvements in their programs.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Spanish level required: Advanced
  • The ideal candidate will interested in education and will have some expertise in compiling and editing video footage for usage on Social Media.

#2 Technology and Web Development Intern

Internship Description:
The intern will be tasked with the development and training of staff on the latest technological tools to improve processes and project management throughout the organization’s network of projects and staff.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Spanish level required: Intermediate
  • The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge in the latest technological tools and a predisposition to use them for educational purposes.

This internship is offered in collaboration with Puentes Abroad. In the internship through Puentes, interns will undertake project-based work that is designed to directly contribute to one of the internship site’s key work areas so that they gain real experience and know-how through substantial, mission-driven work.  The internships are overseen by Puentes and are complemented by homestay housing.
