CONIN

Organization Overview
CONIN is a non-profit organization that fights the scourge of child malnutrition throughout Latin America. Founded by Dr. Abel Pascual Albino in the province of Mendoza, Argentina, on September 4, 1993, the foundation has grown to more than 100 franchised CONIN Centers, distributed in 18 provinces of Argentina and in other countries.  The methodology focuses on the time from pregnancy to 4 to 5 years of age, which are the critical “first 1000 days” in which the child must consume all the necessary nutrients. The IIP intern will work in Communications & Social Media and/or Fundraising.

Intern Responsibilities:

1. Communications and Social Media Intern

The IIP intern will develop and implement a fundraising plan in an online platform. The intern will analyze the organization’s existing fundraising strategies, as well as best practices in online fundraising, and then present findings and recommendations for a new, online fundraising plan. Finally, the intern will revise the plan based on staff’s feedback, and then implement the fundraising action online.

Qualifications:
Strong writing skills are required, with a preference for knowledge of social communication and marketing strategy design. The ideal candidate will be interested in exploring new technological tools and in promoting a social cause through communication. There is also a preference for candidates with knowledge of audiovisual design tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere PRO, iMovie).
Minimum Spanish level required: Intermediate

2. Fundraising Intern
The IIP intern will investigate possible sources of funding for the different projects throughout Argentina for the purchase of necessary equipment and will create a database of the key funding details for each source. The intern will participate in the drafting and presentation of a project grant to at least one of the identified funding sources.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills and will be interested in NGOs and fundraising work.
Minimum Spanish level required: Intermediate

If you are enrolled in the Global Health Program certificate, this internship will fulfill the GHP internship requirement.

This internship is offered in collaboration with Puentes Abroad. In the internship through Puentes, interns will undertake project-based work that is designed to directly contribute to one of the internship site’s key work areas so that they gain real experience and know-how through substantial, mission-driven work.  The internships are overseen by Puentes and are complemented by homestay housing.
