Gashora Girls School of Science and Technology

Location: Kigali, Rwanda
About: The Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology is an upper-secondary boarding school for 270 girls, located in the Gashora Sector of Rwanda an hour south of the capital city of Kigali. Our vision for our students is that they graduate as inspired young leaders filled with confidence, a love of learning, and a sense of economic empowerment to strengthen their communities and foster Rwanda’s growth.

Intern Responsibilities: This internship will coordinate with the Denver School of Science and Technology and the Gashora Girls School to facilitate summer programming for the US-Rwanda exchange program focused on social entrepreneurship and conservation.  The intern will also provide support and planning for the youth summit in East Africa involving a three-day convening of young scholars from Uganda, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and the United States.  This project involves student engagement and coordination with students from different cultures and backgrounds and will support the project leads on curriculum development and execution.  Some monitoring and evaluation and pre- and post- trip planning involved.

Qualifications: Students with skills in curriculum design, international education, social entrepreneurship and conservation would be an asset to this internship.  Also education research and monitoring and evaluation.
