Intern Responsibilities:

Summer Analyst
IIP interns will:
  • Perform market research using publicly available information and proprietary databases to identify, quantify and analyze macroeconomic trends across a variety of industry sectors;
  • Interpret financial analyses prepared by target fund managers, including investment track records and financial statement analysis; prepare valuation analyses on private companies using multiples from comparable public companies and precedent transactions;
  • Support research staff on managing and tracking the flow of investment opportunities;
  • Help construct an argument regarding a decision to invest or not invest, and communicate that argument efficiently in written materials;
  • Creatively analyze data and test hypotheses regarding attractiveness of specific sectors and investment opportunities, and form an independent opinion about the attractiveness of a sector or investment opportunity to clearly articulate in extensive written memoranda;
  • Analyze and monitor the performance of the firm's existing fund managers and underlying portfolio companies; opportunity to participate in meetings with assigned managers.8. 

Qualifications:
  • Top quartile academic background;
  • Strong communication skills, native fluency in English and proficient in Mandarin Chinese;
  • Some degree of familiarity with China through prior work and/or study is preferred;
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities, including strong quantitative and qualitative skills; evidence of high intellectual curiosity is essential;
  • High proficiency in Word, Power Point and Excel;
  • Team player, committed to work, and strong willingness to learn;
  • Full-time availability for a minimum of 10 weeks;
  • Sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply.
