DMI Group comprises of four entities- DMI Finance Pvt. Ltd. (DMI Finance), DMI Housing Finance Pvt. Ltd. (DMI HF), DMI Capital Pvt. Ltd. and DMI Management Services Pvt. Ltd. DMI Finance is the flagship entity of the Group which specializes in offering bespoke credit solutions to suit the needs of growing Indian companies looking to realize the full breadth of their aspirations. It provides short-term bridge financing; medium-term project financing and can act as term loan or working capital lenders to corporates having an average ticket size of INR 500 million. DMI Finance has recently ventured into the retail lending sector to offer quick personal loans, healthcare loans and consumer durable loans to individuals. DMI invests in opportunities which arise from the needs of healthy, mid-sized Indian companies with limited access to traditional sources of debt or equity financing. The Group operates under a broad charter and takes a flexible approach to structuring appropriate solutions for specific investment opportunities. It seeks to achieve an attractive risk-return profile in situations with above-average credit risk by structuring appropriate downside protection. This IIP internship will be broken down into two sections; the first four weeks at DMI’s Head-quarters in Delhi with a focus on Real Estate investing and the next 4-weeks at DMI’s offices in Mumbai with a focus on non-Real Estate mezzanine investing. The IIP intern would be involved in learning the steps involved in initial credit evaluation of deals under the supervision of the mentors.
Intern Responsibilities: The IIP interns will assist in the evaluation of potential investment opportunities, preparation of the investment memorandum and in the monitoring of existing investments in the portfolio.
Qualifications: IIP candidates should be motivated, financially numerate and have interests in finance, development and emerging markets. The IIP intern would contribute to writing investment memoranda and, therefore, superior writing and analytical skills are also required. Basic knowledge of financial modeling would be an asset, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power-point is expected.
