About: Rogers Investment Advisors (RIA) is an investment advisor firm. Through its affiliates, RIA offers a range of financial products and services including fund of hedge funds, hedge funds, a private equity seeding fund, and specialized hedge fund business consulting. Their team uniquely combines decades of buyside and sellside experience in Hedge Funds, Prime Brokerage and Asset Management. This enables a critical understanding of the key relationships for hedge funds including all of the major Prime Brokers, Administrators, Legal firms and software providers. RIA's differentiated backgrounds have been key factors in a track record of outperformance. Their business lines are: fund of hedge funds, hedge fund seeding, hedge fund platform services and business consulting. This IIP internship offering is a rare opportunity for a highly motivated person to gain an accurate overview of the hedge fund industry as well as to gain critical insights into the due diligence process that underpins the selection, analysis and construction of a successful hedge fund portfolio. RIA views their IIP interns as true team members and aim to ensure that they are given real and challenging opportunities to assist the growth of their business.
Intern Responsibilties: IIP interns will conduct research on hedge funds, business structuring and market opportunity assessments. IIP interns may also work on spreadsheet analysis, updating the client database, filing reports, and hedge fund industry-specific news gathering and assessment. Depending on their assessment of the selected IIP interns' skills at least one major project over the course of the IIP experience.
Qualifications: IIP candidates with a strong interest in finance, particularly as regards Asia and an interest in the hedge fund industry are encouraged to apply. Chinese, Japanese or any other Asian language would be an asset but is not required.
Previous work experiences (in the words of past IIP interns): Intern #1: I designed a financial literacy program for NFL players and did research on pension funds. Intern #2: I worked on various financial models, automated and streamlined due diligence processes...I learned about the alternative investments industry. Intern #3: My responsibilities included research and data analysis. I worked on models for the MEMS microphone market and Intel corp...I learned how the hedge fund industry works.
